Terms of Use

Last updated: September 26, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Dause iPhone app. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the app. Dause is published by Taha Rami, an independent developer based in France. You can reach us at hello@dause.app.

1. What Dause is

Dause is a tool that lets you lock apps on your own iPhone and unlock them by spending minutes you earn by walking. It is meant for adults, for their own device. It is not a parental control product and it is not a medical or fitness program.

2. Your subscription

Dause works with a paid subscription, billed through your Apple account. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe. A free trial of 3 days is offered to new subscribers where available; if you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and length until you cancel. You manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings, not in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; we can't issue them ourselves.

3. What we ask of you

4. Steps, minutes and locking

Earned minutes depend on step data from Apple Health, and locking depends on Apple's Screen Time technology. Both are provided by Apple and can behave differently between devices, iOS versions and settings. We do our best to keep the app reliable, but we can't guarantee that every step is counted or that a lock can never be bypassed (for example by removing the app or changing Screen Time settings). Minutes in your Time Bank have no money value and can't be transferred, sold or exchanged for anything outside the app.

5. Your data

How we handle data is explained in our Privacy Policy. The short version is that your health and screen time data stay on your phone.

6. Changes to the app

We may add, change or remove features over time, and we may stop offering the app altogether. If a change affects your subscription in a meaningful way, we'll let you know in the app or by updating this page.

7. No warranty, limited liability

The app is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error free or always available, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses linked to your use of it. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also keep the protections of the mandatory laws of your own country, and you may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
